MeridianBet has chosen Pay4Fun as its payment institution for its operation in Brazil’s regulated fixed-odds betting market. The agreement places the fintech in charge of the operator’s payment structure in the country and expands Pay4Fun’s presence among companies authorized to operate in the segment.
The partnership comes at a time of consolidation in the Brazilian betting market, following the entry into force of the regulatory framework that established specific rules for operators, including requirements related to payments, user identification, fraud and money laundering prevention, and compliance controls.
In this scenario, the choice of financial partners has become part of structuring the operations of betting companies that operate legally in the country. With the partnership, MeridianBet now has a payment institution authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil with experience in the iGaming segment.
“Regulation has brought a new level of demand to the betting market in Brazil. For operators, this means structuring every stage of the operation with partners who understand the particularities of the sector and are prepared to meet the rules. MeridianBet’s choice reinforces our ability to act as a payment institution for operators building their operations within this environment,” says Leonardo Baptista, CEO and co-founder of Pay4Fun.
Pay4Fun was the first payment institution operating in the betting segment to receive authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil. The company has technology for transaction monitoring, identity validation, and mechanisms aimed at preventing fraud and money laundering, in addition to compliance processes and specialized customer service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
MeridianBet is a global sports betting and iGaming operator, active in several regulated markets, with a portfolio that combines sports betting, online casino, and other digital entertainment verticals. The company has an established international presence and has been expanding its operations in countries advancing regulation of the sector, such as Brazil.
In the Brazilian market, MeridianBet is among the group of operators authorized to operate in the regulated fixed-odds betting environment. Entry into this market is part of the company’s strategy to operate in regulated jurisdictions, with a focus on compliance, security, and long-term sustainability.
In this context, the choice of Pay4Fun as the payment institution is directly linked to the need for a financial infrastructure specialized in the sector and aligned with the requirements of the Brazilian market. The partnership strengthens MeridianBet’s operational structure in the country and supports the consolidation of its presence within the regulated environment.
“We are at an important moment in the structuring of the Brazilian market, in which the different participants need to work in an integrated way. Having a payment institution specialized in the sector is an important part of this process and helps ensure our operation is prepared for the demands of the regulated market,” says Renato Kasten Doria, CEO of MeridianBet.
The partnership also expands Pay4Fun’s presence among authorized operators in Brazil and reinforces the institution’s strategy of participating in different stages of the iGaming financial chain as the regulated market advances.
